Hannah pencils, and the last CG preview

When it rains, it pours!

In addition to a finished Nikhil, I also received preliminary sketches for Hannah from @stollcomics today. Here she is pictured next to Adam, which I always find amusing because she’s canonically a foot shorter than him.

Additionally, @soulsoftea has started work on the final CG for the game! A preview of it is below the cut, for spoilers (as always), and I kind of feel like it’s the best one yet.

Nikhil progress and another CG preview

@stollcomics has been hard at work on Nikhil, and pencils and inks are both done for him.

With luck, he’ll be completely done this week.

@soulsoftea has also been hard at work on CGs, and I have another preview below (cut for mild NSFW and spoilers)

Fic: Unwelcome Contact (and CG progress)

@soulsoftea has been hard at work on CGs for the game, and another one is in progress. It inspired me to write this fic, so here’s a weird combo post, of sorts.

A preliminary sketch of the next CG is at the end, for spoiler (and mildly NSFW) reasons.

Hey, look. It’s another fic! (See all of them here.)

There’s a lot of things, in terms of backstory with the other characters and things that you don’t see, that I have specced out in my mind. I thought it would be interesting to present them in text form to fill in some of the gaps, as it were, in the main YAGS storyline.

Needless to say, these pieces will be highly spoilerific, so I recommend you do not read them unless you have finished the game at least once. (Likewise, they may not make as much sense if you haven’t played the game at least once.)

Seriously. Spoilers ahead! Do not continue if you haven’t played the game!

Additional warning: This fic is highly explicit, and NSFW, and all of that stuff. R18+, NC-17, XXX, etc, etc.

Even more additionally, warnings for noncon.

September Updates

A couple of days late, but I wanted to note some YAGS news.

As you saw last post, Juan’s sprite is done. The first, related, news is that I’m renaming Juan to Carlos. The game will be updated for the “final” demo build, and I’m going to go through and retroactively change all of the companion fics I’ve been writing. There’s a lot of reasons for the change, but one bonus is less confusion around “J” names. (Can you believe the protag was originally named “John” too?)

Juan’sCarlos’ sprite is also supposed to be the start of a more steady stream of sprite work, as we now have general dates for all of the remaining sprites.

Which means… I can start setting some release dates! My goal is to push a “final” demo build in late November or early December, which will include final versions of everything except sprites. And even then it should only be a few sprites missing. At that point, I’ll sic some official beta testers on the game to suss out any remaining bugs…

…Because I’m establishing an official game release date of February 2019. That date may still slip, but I’m hoping it won’t fall too far.

Here’s an image of all of the characters so far. (All finished sprites via @stollcomics, as always.)

The game will be free (via itch.io and possibly Steam?) when it releases, but I’ll offer some bonuses for donations (soundtrack, wallpapers, and a behind-the-scenes book with game tips and tricks), if you want to support my gamedev efforts.

(As always, the demo is playable now, and includes basically the full game minus sprite and music polish.)

The other big piece of news is that @soulsoftea is onboard to provide some CGs, at least to cover the endings of each path, so expect some more awesome art to cap out the game experience. A (very preliminary) sketch of the first one is below (cut both for NSFW and mild spoilers of who the game routes are):

Adam CG

Realizing I never shared this WIP. Enjoy the Adam.

I explored the idea of CGs in YAGS briefly, but ultimately decided it didn’t make financial sense. But the first (and, now, only) one that I commissioned, as a test, is making good progress!

I think this is going to become the cover for the Behind-the-Scenes book instead (and maybe also a desktop wallpaper), so at least it won’t go to waste.
